Pioneer4You has become a staple in the vaping industry, developing and manufacturing some of the most popular devices used worldwide. Following the successful release of the IPV5 box mod, Pioneer4You has decided to bring something smaller and more compact to the market. The result is the IPV400, that follows in the footsteps of the company’s past IPV Mini devices. What makes the IPV400 particularly interesting is that Pioneer4You decided to move away from its traditional styling cues, giving the IPV400 a distinct look as the company takes a step in a new direction.
The result is one of the smallest dual 18650 battery mods available today, measuring just 88 mm by 41.5 mm by 28 mm. The menu buttons on the IPV400 are located on the front panel of the device rather than the traditional side, with the intention of preventing you from accidentally changing your memory settings when you go to press the fire button. Like most dual 18650 box mods, the fire button is located on the side of the device. Also found on the front panel is a familiar screen displaying all the necessary data you need including wattage, battery life, atomizer ohm and voltage.
The IPV400 does come with temperature control functionality, so you can use it with Ni200 Nickel, Titanium and Stainless Steel wire. What’s most impressive is that this compact mod has a 10- to 200-watt output range, allowing it to read atomizers as low as 0.15 ohm and as high as 3.0 ohms thanks to its YiHi SX330-F4 chipset. Output voltage ranges from 1.0 to 7.0 volts while output current is 1.0 to 45.0 amps. In temperature control mode, the IPV400 is adjustable from 10 to 120 Joules and is capable of firing an atomizer as low as 0.05 ohm. You can adjust the temperature from 212 to 572 degrees Fahrenheit or 100 to 300 degrees Celsius.
The unit also has TCR mode so that it can work in temperature control with virtually any wire. There is also Pioneer4You’s SX Pure Mode that is configured specifically to be used with certain tanks by Pioneer4You, like the IPV Pure X2 coil-less tank.
At the bottom of the device is a sliding and spring-loaded battery access door that houses the two 18650 batteries (sold separately). At the top is a is a gold-plated 510 connection with a stainless steel thread point. Safety features on the IPV400 include low voltage protection, low resistance protection, high input or output short circuit protection, reverse battery protection and overheating protection.
Each package includes one IPV400 mod, a micro-USB cable and a user manual. It does support direct USB on-board charging, so it isn’t absolutely necessary for you to remove the 18650 batteries in order to charge them.
Some would say that the IPV400 borrowed some of its design from the Sigelei 213W, like its bi-colored body and aesthetic grooves designed to prevent slippage from the hand. But if you prefer Pioneer4You products over Sigelei devices, then the IPV400 might be the perfect mod for you. It is currently available in black and blue and is priced competitively with other 200-watt devices on the market.
